Hollow forms must have been made from a single piece of wood and hollowed through a hole which is significantly smaller than the diameter of the finished work. Vases must be higher than they are wide and have been hollowed. Hollow forms and vases must be predominantly wood but may be decorated with other materials.
Hollow form turned from puriri, carved, pierced and pyrography finished with Beall buff system. 200mm x 80mm.
Turned and carved out of Arizona Cypress, soaked in boiled linseed oil, sealed off with beeswax/manuka oil paste. Very light with its textures appealing to the senses to hold in the hand . 240mm diam x 160mm H.

This gorgeous natural edge vase is a crown from a very old rambling Rose, finished size190 x 120, turned, hollowed and painted Metallic Gold inside. The outside was finished with numerous coats of Danish Oil and then waxed.

Yew 250h 190dia. Carved leaves and copper inlay carved with Pohutukawa flowers. The colour of the wood is natural with an oil finish to highlight the grain. The realism in the leaves and flowers are testament to detail added.
