This Blackwood minimalist embellished bowl measures 300mm wide by 60mm high. The friction wax finish defines a myriad of colors and range of patterns doing away with the need for any embellishment beyond that of nature herself.

A salad bowl made from 2 layers of Black Maire, embossed on the outer side to disguise the join with the same embossing pattern repeated on the foot. The finished dimensions are: Diameter : 290mm Height: 110mm Wall thickness: 10mm The inside is finished with foodsafe Shell Ondina Oil, the outside is buffed Miratone sanding sealer
"Black Tiger" Using Yakisugi technique with carved flutes on Japanese Cedar which give the wood a three dimensional look of motion, several coats boiled linseed oil giving a rich golden colour, sealed with several coats of satin lacquer, 290mm diam X 250mm H

The Hawaiian Calabash is a favourite form of mine. Made from Tasmanian Blackwood with Oak pevas (bowties) front and back and finished with a homemade blend of BLO, Polyurethane varnish and Mineral Turps. Bowl is 220 mm x 90 mm (8.7" x 3.5") at the waist.
Ash platter. 245mm x 60mm. Sealed with nitrocellulose sanding sealer. Rim has Iridescent acrylic paint over matt black enamel.
Made of Silky Oak with Pyrography, Dremel carved and metallic paint. "Flow of the Sea" measures 155mm x 70mm and follows a theme from Art of Wood 2024 and has been Beall Buffed.
Maire root stock and resin bowl 265 Dia 125 H finished 30% gloss laquer. Maire root stock which split in half has been separated and infilled with resin coloured earthy brown dark to light bottom to top
Ancient Kauri and resin coloured ocean blue ( graduated )joined in the shape of a traditional ocean shell. The bowl has been turned to 8ml thickness to let the light filter through the resin as it would with Ocean water. 350 dia 130 high finish 30% lacquer gloss.
A small, kauri bowl with a plain undercut rim, and enduring ogee design on the outside. The size is 228 x 46 high and the finish is carnauba wax.
Golden Wedding Anniversary Bowl for musician friends. Kauri with the names of the couple, children and grandchildren engraved on piano key material set into the rim. Size 260 x 100mm.
Found deep within a production pine forest a row of dead and dying trees were located. Believed to be Sycamore, several of them had notable full stem gnarly burls. This fragile piece is rich in larval tunnels and was turned with care and low speed. 300mm diameter.
