Black Maire in one piece with ebony finial.  An arch with catenary vessel that appears suspended in the air.  Basket weave texture has been embossed on the vessel to give the impression of separate parts   180mm long.

A splendid two-piece lidded box from a single length of Northland Kanuka measuring 270mm high and 70wide and finished with friction wax. The equatorial bead overlaps the join between lid and base creating the illusion of a solid piece.

Jewellery box with tray, featuring basket-weave pyrography, a rimu lid with textured pewter ring inlay, and an African blackwood carved finial. Dimensions: 110mm diameter, 160mm high.

A small, 85 x 40mm, box of Yunnan Poplar finished with Fiddies wax.  We gift these boxes to the Child Cancer Foundation for use in Beads of Courage Programme.

Contains two lift out trays to compartmentalise collections.  Velvet lined and an organic curved detail to the outside.  The lid is fitted with handmade wooden stop hinges.  Finish is homemade bees wax polish.  External dimension 240mm x 130mm x 95mm

Viking ship crafted from Pohutukawa, Kauri, Puriri, and Purpleheart timbers, with turned and carved pieces. Sliding oar support and locking pins reveal a secret flocked compartment. Dimensions: 470mm long, 400mm wide, 350mm high.

Spotted gum, turned, carved, coloured with acrylic paints, finished with satin clear. Cotton to bind the feather quills. Inner box made from Macrocarpa burl, turned and finished with gloss clear. 180mm high x 65mm wide.

Felled by Cyclone Gabrielle and consigned to firewood this sliver of Raisin Tree (Hovenia Dulcis) was a lucky rescue. Finial of painted Black Maire with the remainder Beall buffed over a Danish Oil finish. 205mm H x 125mm W.

Inspired by a park boarder in Foxton, lifting the box form to another level. Sandblasted and airbrushed to add a textural contrast.  70 Dia. x 105 H. Swamp Totara (box and finial) Kahikatea (lid).  Mirotone 3242 sanding sealer, Museum Polish.

Laburnum Lidded Box 85mm wide X 120mm High Finished with EEE and Ricebran oil with Beeswax

This multi-axis work has been turned to symbolise a canoe used to bring food on the great voyage from the seven Pacific group of Islands.  The lids interlock to join the nations. Made with Kauri, Tawa and Ebony.  420mm long.   

Diamond lidded box in spalted Kahikatea, floating on a pōhutukawa stand. Inspired by the flowing curves and mascot of the Rolls Royce Phantom, the art deco era and H Hoffman glass. 30cm high, 14cm base, finished with shellac.

A small jewellery box from unknown burl with Pohutukawa trim and finial with 3 captive rings. Inspired by Cindy Drozda.  155mm high and 70mm diameter.

Pūriri and tānekaha friction fit box. Two contrasting endemic woods of Aotearoa. A simple designs with crisp details and a precision fit. Based loosely on a pint of Guinness. Finished with soybean oil and buffed with carnauba wax. 60 x 80 mm.

Segmented lidded bowl on pedestal base made from Black Walnut and Purple Heart. 156 segments.  Separate inside compartment. 220mm wide, 375mm high, finished with Danish Oil (Briwax)
