Totara timber from Dargaville Grandstand 1911-2001. The tops have retained the original octagonal shape of the timber. This is a one piece double vase with French polish/ shellac finish. W=105mm /H=285mm/Vase depth= 118mm
Timber is a black maire burl. Cracking was from drying and stabilised with Co Glue once dried, allowing it to retain its form. French polish/shellac finish. W=175mm/H=65mm.
Base and bowl is tanekaha, the finial is purple heart. The finial base and bowl have been shiplap joined. Finish is French polish/shellac. H=270mm/Width at base =75mm/lidded cup W=50mm/H=40mm.
